Welcome to the website of Italian Hours (formerly Roma Antica), which, since 2002, has been organizing private tours of Rome, Florence and Venice. My name is David Lown, MA. I am an art historian, writer and the director of Italian Hours.
Private Tours:
Your time in Italy is precious so why not make the best use of it by treating yourself to a tour, tailored to your own requirements. A tour in which you set the agenda; you set the time; you set the pace.
To help you decide what you might like to see, I have compiled brief guides to Rome, Florence and Venice. The guides, however, offer only suggestions; I can construct an itinerary completely geared to your own particular interests.
I am also happy to arrange tours starting from your Venice, Florence or Rome Hotels.
My experience of introducing people to the cultural delights of Italy goes back many years. As a lecturer in Art History, I used to run regular study tours of the major Italian cities. In 2001, I decided to settle here permanently and in the following year I set up Roma Antica.
